Another essential part of musical understanding is the ability to play in a group. Our workshops give students the opportunity to collaborate with other students on musical projects and build a unique set of skills allowing them to interact and experience music with and through others. Our workshops are held twice a year and are a wonderful opportunity for students to experience something they might not be able to anywhere else. We've been told that being part of our workshop 'rock-bands' has been some of the more rewarding experiences for our students and is a priceless alternative to school bands or individual practice. They tend to sell out quite fast so pre-booking is recommended

During the school holidays, we run holiday workshops for kids and young adults aged 5-19 years. The workshops are for all levels and most instruments.

Workshops run over 2 days at Thornleigh Baptist Church, 15-17 Duffy Avenue, Thornleigh. Just some of the exciting things covered at the workshops include:

  • Working together in small 381933-235525213178316-123661167698055-746885-949814902-n.jpgensembles
  • Percussion master class
  • Following basic chord charts
  • Staging and performance tips
  • Learning about the roles of other instruments
  • Lessons on dynamics and tempo
  • Prizes and awards

Workshops run between 10am to 3pm. There is always a one-hour performance show for parents and friends on day 2 at 3pm where the workshop attendees can show off their new, recently acquired skills. This allows them to put into practice what they have been learning for the very first time to a public audience.

Lunch is provided on day 2 and there are also pick-up and drop-off services available. We recommend early booking and payment as there are limited spaces available.

Spaces are limited so call us in the shop during office hours to book and secure your spot at the next workshop!
